Very kindly given to the Association by John Harrison a recently retired Lincolnshire farmer. After some work, the project was abandoned and she was left in the open. The decking needs replacing, although fortunately as an Eric Bergquvist glass-reinforced plastic hull, copied from the "Sir John Priestly", is very sound. She has every fixture and fitting to reassemble the boat including engine and gearbox, propeller, wooden blocks, windlass, mast and spars plus a suite of sails to complete the project.
The boat is 28ft overall length and will fit the criteria, once completed, of needing little ongoing maintenance in comparison to the traditional wooden boats owned by individual members. The aim is to turn her into a half-decker, making provision for more members to be aboard when sailing.
As the re-assembly of its component parts takes place over the coming months the photo will be updated as the rebuild progresses. There will be a video produced too for our members but also for wider public viewing.
