Built Crossfields, Laura, the winner of the Liverpool Nobby Race 2007. Although bearing a registered sail number there is no known history of her actually fishing. Built by Crossfields for their own use and reputed to have a lead keel.  She spent many successful years racing on the south-east coast later returning to the north-west and took part in many River Mersey Nobby Races.

She was on the hard at Glasson Dock, Nr Lancaster for several years. She now has a new owner, Michael Leahy, and was at Porth Penryn (Bangor), North Wales for a little TLC. Finished in 2019, she now sports a white/cream hull colour. Michael keeps her on the Menai Straits at Porth Penryn.

I Sailed on her when I was young. My father Paul Covell then the security of Hayling Island Sailing Club was a part-owner with Viv Williams. I can remember a few wonderful sailing holidays in the Solent and down to the West Country. I remember reading about her amazing history in a book on board. Something about a single-handed helm falling overboard and Laura taking around on her own and sailing back past the swimming skipper who climbed back on board. Please keep me up to date with this beautiful boat.
