Reluctant sale of Empress due to work commitments, she has been much improved in my ownership having £20k+ spent on her, often showing the Essex smacks the way home in races.
Hull: Pitch pine on sawn oak frames except four frames around the mast which were replaced in 2010 with laminated Iroko frames, new Iroko floors were fitted at the same time along with an Iroko mast step. New rudder 2011. She was re-fastened with bronze screws and re-caulked in 2009. Iron ballast keel and lead internal ballast. New stem, apron and breast hook 2012. New stem head fitting incorporating gammon iron and bow roller 2012. New stem band 2012.
Boom new in 2009 from Douglas fir, Gaff new in 2011 from Douglas fir, Bowsprit new in 2011 from Douglas fir, Mast from fir year unknown. Rigging/Sails: All running rigging new 2009-2011. Main new 2009, No1 Jib new 2009, No2 Jib new 2009, Stays’l new 2009 all by James Lawrence, Top sail in good condition year and maker unknown.

Engine: Vetus 3-10, 20HP rebuilt 2007. Stern tube, prop-shaft, coupling and propeller new 2011.Batteries: 2 x 85Ah in plastic boxes all new 2010.
Fuel tank: 40L, plastic tank. New 2010
Electronics/Electrics: NASA “Target II” echo sounder, Garmin GPS 451 chart plotter, Icom VHF, Plastimo compass. All battery cables new 2010. Navigation light boards which fit on to shrouds. 12v lighting and main and forward cabin.
Anchor: Main; 25lb (11kg) CQR with 20m of 10mm chain and 30m warp (chain new 2009). Spare; 8kg Bruce with 8mm chain and warp.
Other: Various fenders and mooring lines.
Mooring: Deep water mooring tackle could be included in the sale which comprises of; 2 x 40kg Danforth type anchors, 100’ (30m) of 18mm chain, 33’ (10m) 15mm riser chain and a 2 & 1/2 ‘ (75cm) buoy. All new in 2008.
